Start

I don't think there are any MUST do's but there are so many things to see, do and experience.

I've lived here for about 13 years. I lived in Holland Park and Notting Hill before in a house but I wanted a big change and to live in a lateral space with a roof garden! I love the area because it’s young at heart. There are always new things to experience and the area is full of great, interesting people doing great stuff.  It's like living in a village.

My top 5 places in shoreditch

Albion
Albion

After a swim at Shoreditch House, I would stop off for breakfast at The Albion on Redchurch Street. It opened in 2009 but is a good old British ‘Caff’ serving excellent breakfasts.

Two Columbia Road
Two Columbia Road

There is some great mid-century furniture on display at Two Columbia Road. It’s a shop / gallery that sells beautiful furniture from Scandinavia, Europe and North America. Worth a visit if you are buying or just looking…

Pitfield
Pitfield

Pitfield is an eclectic mix of shop, gallery and café all in the same building. It’s situated on Pitfield Street just behind Hoxton Square. You can buy something special, browse the nick nacks and then finish off with a coffee.

Carl Freedman Art Gallery
Carl Freedman Art Gallery

The area is full of art galleries and you could spend a whole day ducking in and out of them. There is also plenty of art on the street as well with new stuff springing up all the time. My pick would be Carl Freedman at 29 Charlotte Road which has some great prints and lots of original work.

Hoxton Square Bars
Hoxton Square Bars

Hoxton is well known for its bars and Hoxton Square is a good place to start exploring them. It’s been on the cutting edge of music and culture for many years now and you can make it as laid back or as full on as you want it to be.
